Child Support

The current guidelines for child support calculations paid by the non-custodial parent are set forth below:

Number of
Children
Percentage Range of Gross Income
1
17 percent to 23 percent
2
23 percent to 28 percent
3
25 percent to 32 percent
4
29 percent to 35 percent
5 or more
31 percent to 37 percent

Child support payments are based upon the income of the non-custodial parent, and may be modified should that income increase or decrease over time.  If you are currently paying or receiving child support, and have questions about modifying the amount, I can explain the process to you and help you achieve the best result possible.

ALERT:  On April 22, 2005 Governor Perdue signed House Bill 221 into law.  This new law makes sweeping changes in how child support payments will be calculated.  It goes into effect in July 2006.  If you would like to read the version of the Bill which was signed into law, click here.
